WFIS grabbed major headlines in Indonesia after a splendid fintech show

Jakarta, 6th November 2023: With a turnout that literally had the entire financial services industry under its grasp, the World Financial Innovation Series (WFIS) got off to a massive start at The Ritz-carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place on 24 October 2023. The platform was inaugurated by none other than Indonesia’s very own regulatory body for FSI, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) which was represented by Asep Iskandar (Department Head of the Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Assets and Crypto Assets Regulation and Licensing – OJK). He addressed the entire congregation with a speech and got the stage into action with a loud gong strike that echoed through the entire venue.

The Business & Services Director from Credit Bureau Indonesia (CBI), Anton K Adiwibowo, who was also a key speaker for the event, expressed his delight for the platform,

“This is a very good event, we can meet all the industry leaders in the country, we can share ideas, we can share our latest updates with the industry leaders as well. I would say that you should make these kinds of events more.”

Through the course of 2-days, the attendees got numerous opportunities to engage with potential vendors who could address their challenges and consequently their crucial areas for investment. Highlighting his experience, the Country Head from Ab Initio, Oded Ravid commented,

I think there is a great opportunity for the world to learn from Indonesia and for Indonesia to learn from more matured markets.”
